I've purchased Leopard and have decided that I will just install it as a full install on newly formatted drive opposed to just upgrade. My question is: Can I install an all new drive (which I own) and install Leopard on it making it the new Boot Drive w/ OS? If so, is it advisable or advisable to stick with OEM harddrive? Then, when you are fairly confident that all your Applications, Networking, etc.

If you want to delete oldest records, per last update record date you can use ROWDEPENDENCIES and track the record changes.; When you specify ROWDEPENDENCIES to enable row-level dependency tracking which increases the size of each row by 6 bytes. A new pseudo-column will be created 'orarowscn' which you can use to identify at which SCN the row has been modified (updated or inserted). You can then use scntotimestamp function to return the timestamp of the SCN and know the 'date' when the row has been lastly changed. Finally use a delete from yourtable where scntotimestamp(orarowscn). Please read; Now the other question, how much records have your table? I mean depending on how records you can create another table and insert the records that you Don't want to delete and then truncate the original table which is more fast than delete thousands of records.

On the computer that has enough memory I don't think lion is any faster than Snow Leopard and if your computer doesn't have enough memory you'll find that many programs run significantly slower in lion. I think Mountain lion is a little bit faster than lion was but it also requires a little bit more memory. If your computer has 4 GB or can be upgraded to 4 GB lion will run okay but without 4 GB don't consider upgrading.
